Banana Bread


3 Bananas
2c Flour
1c Sugar
1 Egg
3Tbs Butter
1Tsp Baking Soda
1Tsp Baking Powder
1/2Tsp Salt
1Tsp Vanilla
Chopped Walnuts – Optional

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Peel and break each banana into three pieces.  Place the pieces into a bowl.  Mash.
Use a potato masher to coarsely mash the bananas.

Step 2:

Add remaining ingredients to the bowl of mashed banana. Stir until well mixed.

Step 3:

Pour into lightly greased loaf pan. 

Sprinkle walnuts over the top of the bread prior to placing in to the oven.  -OR- Add two handfuls of chopped walnuts to the batter before pouring into pan.

Bake in pre-heated oven set to 350 degrees.  Bake for 1 hour or until fully baked, and golden brown.

Check if the bread is fully cooked by stabbing with a fork.  The bread is ready when the fork comes out clean.
